Quite place to ride., Feb 09, 2007
reviewer: Mudwhomper_Rob from Waco, TX
Over 85 miles of woodland trails split into two sections, east and west with Lake Conroe in between. We rode the east side and were quickly plunged into a dense forest with no signs of civilization other than the trail itself, very beautiful and quiet. No difficult or technical riding other than the occasional tree trunk to cross. This is a wonderful place for a family trail ride. Vault toilet at trail head was very clean. Because this is a National forest, certain rules apply. Helmets and goggles are required as is an ATV safety course card and Off-Highway Vehicle decal available from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, or one from your home state. Check with the Ranger office before you go for any other requirements and trail closings. Toll free (888) 361-6908. $5 per day per trail user. Nice things to bring: extra water, extra gas, and a GPS. I gave this a three star rating because of the sameness of the trails and all of the requirements needed to ride.
