to whom it may concern,
Mud buddy's spring break of 2013 was by far the worst
experience I've had at this place. I came a few years back (while
Kelly ran the place) and this trip I was not aware of the new
management. Knowing this I would have not came out.
* Arrival time, nobody was at the house to check us in (1hr)
* cabins were semi-clean
* #1 wrong doing was having the old man walk in on my wife at
the cabin in broad daylight (trying to enforce their rules about
leaving porch light on (always knock first!!!!)
* I had a party of 8 respectful friends and didn't enjoy it
because all the management was doing was following us around
with their foot up our ass enforcing their rules!!!!
* we've all been here before and that's why we sign a safety
waiver for crying out loud
* don't do this! don't do that! which everyone was abiding by all
the rules posted all over the place(ya maybe went the wrong
way here or there but not enough to be followed getting bitched
at the whole time!!!
* mind you that we were a group of spring breakers that does
not drink or smoke
* I even saw him get after an older gentlemen that was letting
his grand kids drive the ranger around on the kiddie track, and
yes that grandpa packed his stupendous and hit the gate right after that
.....Uhhh hello people that's why we pay to come here and let
our kids ride and have fun outside of city limits on a private
property ranch!!!
* the drag strip... We tore it up! And here comes old guy,
getting mad at us for kicking up dust(donuts) which there was
no sign for no donuts!!! and if you see there is a big crowd at
your dragstrip be cool and bring the tractor and smooth it out
after a few runs(have a beer watch us race)
* the jumping track sucks now, no table tops, no doubles,
nothing worth riding it! (Kelly had it fixed up)
All in all, this one not a 100% enjoyable stay at mud buddy's.
hopefully new management lightens up because new rules are
more than likely to shy people away from this place, give it a
few more years there will hardly be people coming out and
eventually it will die out!!!
I had never been to this park before new management took over but they're doing an incredible job! We had NO issues with fellow riders, or even felt like our stuff was threatened to be stolen. The managers were always around and easy to find if they weren't. They weren't strict but kept an eye on the place and made rounds to make sure all was well and everyone was safe, very organized. She told me all about the layout over the phone and what to bring and not to bring. The trails are maintain so all bikes can ride. We came with mud four wheelers, race four wheelers, dirt bikes, and even a mini bike. Fun was had by all. Everyone has fun and although I didn't bring my kids, it's a great place to take em and have fun. There's a mud pond, dirt trails with FUN turns, a clean creek with tire swings, lots to explore and ride. Had tons of fun! The cabins are simple but comfortable with cold a/c.
In case everyone didn't know Mudbuddys is under new management. We took over in October 2011. The bathrooms have been totally remodeled. The shower is sanitized and cleaned before your arrival. All the trash has been cleaned up, that was here when we took over. We are in the process of building new showers and restrooms like the state parks have. We do have a few rules, that we expect everyone to abide by. There are no signs yet, we are working on that. But we tell you the rules as you sign in. Our rules are for your safety, not ours. Please come and check us out before you believe the bad things that are said. Everyone knows that you can't please each and every person that comes out to mudbuddys, but we do try. All the rooms have new fencing in front of them, we have also made some new trails and cleaned up some of the old ones. As soon as the new showers/restrooms are done we will be starting on the rooms and remodeling them. It takes time for improvements and there is only 2 of us doing most of the work. Thanks to good friends and customers that do help out when they are here. Thanks to each and everyone of you that come to mudbuddys2 on a regular basis. STAY MUDDY
We have in the past been to Mud Buddies and had a blast. This time Easter Weekend we decided to make the 2 hour drive and go again. The place is not clean the bathrooms are awful. The trails are no longer marked at all. They cater to Racing bikes and quads. We got informed we were near an area we should not be but nothing is marked. The person kept coming over telling us we were seen where we should not be. Where would that be. We had an awful time. He was rude and accused the girls for going where they shouldn't and by the way they didn't they had got stuck and were trying to get back to the camp. We left after his rude remarks. If he used half of that energy marking locations and trails and cleaning up it would be a much nicer experience. We will never go back. We can over look the dirt and the bathroom not being clean but to charge and then be rude and an Jerk. If i could reach the owners and let them know how awful it was I would. I went to the office to complain and he came in and kept arguing and would not even let me speak to the lady inside. Awful Awful and Awful. That is all I can say.
I've ridden out here about a dozen times and usually enjoy
the trip. I am thankful that there is an ATV park fairly close
to me.
The cabins are pretty crude, but they beat sleeping on the
ground and do have A/C and heat.
The last few times I've been out there, the trash problem
has been better than it was about a year ago. It still has
some trash laying around which is unsightly.
The river is a blast. I always enjoy riding down to the river.
The river is the main attraction if you are a 4wd enthusiast.
The restrooms are poor and not much better than an
outhouse.
Currently, I think the park fee is about $15 per bike, but I'd
gladly pay $20 if they could use the additional revenue to
make the place a little nicer.
