Directions
It is between Longview and Kilgore on the North side of the Road. From Longview heading West, exit right on FM 2087 or Exit number 591. Take a Uturn onto the access road heading back East, go a 1/4 mile and trail head starts on the left right after you pass Larry's trailer house up on the hill.
Just DON'T park in the dirt area between the access road and the west bound lanes of I-20.. You will get your vehicle towed or ticketed.. Park ON Larrys Land either by using HIS DRIVEWAY and parking by his house, (he doesnt mind), or by parking down in the bottoms..
Weekend Events
Just plain riding and having fun. This place gets pretty packed on the weekends so be careful.
Although not the largest trail, it is an interesting ride nontheless. This is a popular location and you can always see someone out here riding as you pass through the sabine river bottoms on I-20. As you enter there is some sinage letting you know the starting point. It is a pretty long climb up then down as you ride towards the river. Many smaller trails split off offering different challenges, one in particular is a very steep dangerous climb. The trails are fairly rutted showing their age, and after a rain this place can be tough to get around when the clay turns to quicksand. As you ride closer to the river, it turns into some sandy trails with some woop te doos. His land is actually not that large, and after a few hours you will run out of trails. When the river is down, I notice many cross the Interstate and have found more places to ride but not sure who owns that land. Cops patrol the area, so be sure not to park on the access road, you will get a ticket or towed. O and no one will ask you for money here so do the decent thing and donate a few dollars per rider in the donation box up by Larry's trailer house (unless it has changed location). No contact information that I have found for this trail, so you may want to drive by before hauling to make sure its still open it has been a few years since I have been out here. To sum it up, great place to spend half a day or an afternoon, but for a full weekend/vacation I would look elsewhere.
