Admission Fees


Park opens Friday at 3:00PM and closes Sunday at dusk. RSVP only pls.

Camping Availability

11 primitive camp sites available for 5$
10 RV sites (water and electricity) available for 20$

Male/Female restrooms with showers available!

Terrain

705 Acres and 40+ miles of trail - their are trails for no matter what vehicle you bring!

Directions

From Houston:

Take exit 123 FM 1696 off I-45 (4miles North of Huntsville).
Turn left, then go West (under the overpass) 2 miles on FM 1696 to HWY 75.
Turn right (North) on HWY 75 and go 5 miles *.
Turn left on Bishop Road and go 1 mile.
The Red Gate will be open.

* landmark--( from Houston ) At the top of the hill right before you get to Bishop Road, there will be a huge stone the size of a jeep on the right hand side of HWY 75. Bishop Road is 1/4 mile on the left from that point.

From Dallas:

I-45 south...exit FM 2889 (South of Madisonville)
turn right to HWY 75...turn left (south) & go 6 miles
turn right on Bishop Rd and go one mile
you will see General Sams entrance.

Only place I have been to where the owner will come down in a tractor or a bull dozer to pull you out of a hole. He does it with a smile and doesn't expect any money for the service. He just wants everyone to have a good time.

I had a good time at G Sams this weekend the trails are dangerous, but not as dangerous as the bathrooms. The bathrooms are completely discusting.

Camped and rode this weekend this place is fantastic!!!Best time we have ever had love Big John and his wife even though there must have been over 300 people we seen never ran out of places to ride shaded areas open spaces just loved it will go back again soon.

Went there in the jeep but plan to return with both jeep and ATVs. Owner is a class act and the trails are great.

Do not let the rain stop you!! We went and it rained the whole weekend but the mud was great and it had water coming in from all over.Great restrooms and showers with Hot water.Denny, the owner is also very friendly and helpful
