From Dallas/Ft. Worth take 35E or 35W north to Denton. Turn west on 380 to Decatur. At Decatur, turn north on 51. The Ranch will be 18 miles on your left. From Ft. Worth you can also take 287 northwest to Decatur and then turn north on 51. There is a sign for the Ranch by the road and you can see motorcycle tracks coming out of a gravel pit down by the road.
Went to check out the place three weeks ago.... just what I needed. Me and my crew have been going to east Texas, not any more. We can just drive 30 miles to Rocky Ridge now. The place is not as big as the one in East Texas but 1000 acres will do it for us.
According to their web site www.rrrtexas.com they will be open for Labor Day. Don’t forget your ear plugs people like to ride at night. Oh by the way camping is not free, but worth it. They have this deal if you get there Friday night pay $30 you can camp and ride the whole weekend.
They are grading roads and looks like the old drag strip area is getting a face lift this is great. looks like they have a ways to go but its going, camping should be good this fall hopefully the back trails can be fixed up some GOOD JOB ROCKY RIDGE our group will be going back soon
I looked on line for some places to ride our polaris vehicles sence the police was so nice to inform us riding around town was aganinst the law,,, I found several reviews of rocky ridge and all were negative! but decided to go look for myself and was I suprised the reviews must have been posted by someone wanting to keep park to them selves it was great awsome hills and jumps we really worked out our utv`s that day and we stayed all day and am planning to go back as soon as possible Please disreguard all negative reviews and go check it out for your self you will not regret your decision
We travelled from Dallas to RRR for some ATV fun and R n R before our daughter leaves for the Army.
Upon pulling down by the campsite that has electricity we received a large cut in our Motor Home tire. We parked and unloaded the trailer and set up camp. We were determined not to get discouraged.
We road for approximately 15 minutes and received 2 flats on the 4 wheeler and a flat on the dirt bike.
The lake was a small pond and there was a rock pit called the sand pit.
The shower had so much dried mud in it that it was cracked like the ground.
Needless to say we left as soon as we could pack and re-load.
I've been going to Rocky Ridge for about 4 years. My recent trip this weekend had me thinking "another good thing gone bad". I brought my family of 4 (wife, 7 year old and 4 year old boys) to camp 1 night and it cost $30 per person! After paying $120.00 to enter I found the riding even more disapointing. First off. There has been NO maintnance on the land. For example the first "track" on the left as you enter is covered with deep mud/ruts and in some areas only to be made worse by four wheelers creating deeper ruts and holes. If you are going to have a motorcycle track at a motorcyle park at least keep it ridable and maintained! The "fish bowl" area used to be where we spent lots of time but it is completely destroyed by wash outs and poor land managment. The dam is closed off. By the way, the "fishing lake" is about 5 acres, not 50 acres as I've seen posted on various sites. The drag strip used to be another fun location in Rocky Ridge but it is also destroyed and useless due to huge ruts and mudholes. Overall, there is no land / terrain maintenance performed at all. All it would take is a frontloader to go out and make sure the paying customers get what they pay for! There are no facilities! - One discusting portapotty and a handfull of electrical locations scattered around. There are no designated camping areas w/ water / electric. No bathroom/shower/running facilities which probably wouldn't be a big deal if it didn't cost the same as Disney Lan
